Barcelona. Where do I start? What an amazing city! If you ever get the chance to go, GO! In February 2012, I went with my Fine art Uni group (years 1,2 & 3) from Liverpool's John Lennon airport. Due to the fact that it was February, it was layers weather, but the sun was still glorious. the city oozed with culture and photographic/ artistic opportunities were around every corner. The Catalan people were kind and class, eccentric and just made it seem like you were part of a movie or needed a movie making about them. The food was simply beautiful. If it wasn't traditional Spanish and Catalan, they had other beautiful cuisine such as turkish ( of which were very hospitable) and they also seemed to really like German Bratwurst. The food was incredibly fresh from markets such as the 'La Boqiera' Just off 'La Rambla', not to mention the cocktails were made from fresh too! (and cheap). But the real reason we came was for the vast art scene, from street art, to shop windows, to the private collections and the BIG galleries, Barcelona is ART. I could easily live, nay, thrive here. I would like to describe so much more, but I would love for you readers to go and see for yourselves!
Me captured by Sah's Fisheye camera outside the 'Fundacio Sunol' gallery, a private collection, and possibly the best curated show I have ever seen.
One of the first years, a lovely Scottish lady, had very adept balloon skills and so we all sat in the airport learning balloon animals, here's my little doggie :)

Well. I don't know if they stole the clothes, are homeless with donations or what, but I do like this image. A grungy long haired guy is helped to zip up a frilly pink dress by his friend as he effeminately holds up his hair.
A woman also puzzled by these guys. A lot of older ladies dressed like this. it was nice. She seemes just as puzzled by the dressing up people as I do.

A massive gathering in the streets for the local weekend festival. From my understanding they held street festivals every weekend. It explains the frequently dressed up children and the vast amount of costume shops.
Beautiful Barcelona.
